Beale Street Memphis, TN – Vintage Signs and Sights Night and Day

Day or night your visit to Memphis is not complete without an amble down historic Beale Street.  Here are some snapshots from our all too short visit to this famous thoroughfare to inspire you:

Blues Hall and Juke Joint – you just don’t hear those phrases much anymore, do you? Same with Drinks to Go-!

From Wikipedia: “A. Schwab dry goods store is the only remaining original business on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. A family owned store, their motto is “If you can’t find it at A. Schwab, you’re probably better off without it!”" – good place for tacky souvenirs – but be warned, closed Sundays.

We weren’t able to see the museum on the second floor that evening, but I once again was being stalked by the vintage scales!

We heard some live music at the Rum Boogie Cafe – how could you not hear live music when in Memphis? Loved seeing the STAX neon sign!

On an unseasonably warm spring night, Beale Street was packed with tourists, locals, spring breakers and more, a lovely evening!

Still it’s great to check out the scene – what an ingenious us of an old building facade – behind it is a courtyard restaurant/bar. And check out those vintage cars!

We enjoyed a snack and some live music at the Kings Palace Cafe, we liked the old fashioned vibe inside.
