Willow Grove Amusement Park Film Clip from Documentary

You never know what you’ll stumble upon during your lunch hour, and today I’m bringing you (via @Philebrity) this 12 minute video of Willow Grove Amusement Park circa 1960.

According to the Youtube description:

This wonderful 12 minute film of Willow Grove Park shows what it was like visiting it in the late 50′s, 60′s and finally the early 70′s. Most of these attractions would remain until the park’s final days. This film is used in a 1 hour documentary that I will release on DVD soon.

UPDATE!  I’ve contacted Secret Cinematarian Jay Schwartz and he and the official Secret Cinema are not involved with this project, as an FYI.

A Willow Grove chrome postcard was the first ever vintage post card I bought (but certainly not the last, as the mess at Retro Roadmap HQ will attest!)

I’ll keep everyone in the loop about the documentary – in the meantime enjoy the video and the swingin’ soundtrack!

  1. Whoa … love that vid.

Plus, it reminds me to go take photos of what (very little) is left of Mechanicswburg’s Willow Mill park :)

    • Any time we can all be reminded to go take photos of a place that isn’t there – or might not be there for that much longer, is a good thing in my book.

Does Martha Stewart have a lock on the “good thing” phrase? Do I owe her a nickel? ;-)

  2. I don’t care what they say, we WERE innocent back then.

  3. OMG……What a great piece…..brings back SO MANY MEMORIES……
