Help! What Do You Want To Read About Next? Readers’ Choice

Posted on: January 27, 2012

You know when you’re faced with a ton of options and you don’t know where to start,so you’re kinda paralyzed and just stand there, not even doing anything? Like looking at a mountain, and knowing you have to get to the top, but BOY does that mountaintop look a long ways away!

Well, that’s how I’m feeling at the moment with the backload of cool old vintage retro and fun places to share with you, dear readers! We’ve crammed a lot of travel into the past few months, and I just don’t even know where to start. Will you help me?

Please let me know which of these to write about, so I can start climbing that mountain!

Do you want to learn where to dine on German food, surrounded by knotty pine?

Dining Room

OR where to get breakfast at the counter?

Counter Shot

OR where this gorgeous art deco delight is?

NiMo Building - Niagara Mohawk - Art Deco

Or find out where this homage to Bill Cosby is located?

Bill Cosby Jello Pudding Display

Maybe you’d like to know where to get a delicious sandwich and one of these tasty drinks?

Tom & Jerry Punch Bowl

Or where to gaze at this delightfully decorated plaster ceiling while buying some of the most delicious candies ever?

Decorative Plaster Ceiling

or get a cheeseburger like THIS!

Cheeseburger - The Bernice OriginalAnd that’s not even the half of it!

It’s a wonderful thing to know that there are so many neat places out there that I’ve been able to visit within the past few months, but that doesn’t help you learn about them until I post’em!

So, reader’s choice – what goes first?

Thanks! xo Mod Betty

  • I vote for the deco (followed by the cheeseburger)

    • I think your order is going to start off the pack. Thanks for the suggestions Rickilby!

  • JohnF

I like the order you already have on this page

    • Thanks, John – that was kind of a chronological order but no one says I can’t switch it around some – we’ll see what happens!

  • I live for knotty pine German restaurants!

    • Lizzie- It was the first time I was in a German Restaurant, so I’m not sure I am the best person to judge, but definitely will be writing about this place tout suite!

  • If that Bill Cosby exhibit is the Jello Museum, I vote for that. There’s always room for Jello!

    • Watch It Wiggle, see it jiggle! you’re right!

  • I’ve got to know about that cheeseburger, and hope it’s within a reasonable driving distance.

    • Grant= not sure what your level of “reasonable” is, but it’s within 1000 miles of you! 🙂

Here’s a cool link, Mod Betty. Nostalgia from a previous life in the Philly ‘hood’ and life in the fantastic ’50s.

    • EP – what a great collection! I’m actually planning on doing some research for The Colonial Theatre in the microfilm of the Historical Society, to see if I can find some old ads or articles about what was playing there back in the day – great minds think alike!!

  • Tom

Knotty pine supper club! (WI, MN, MI, etc) and Art Deco. Love your website!

    • Knotty Pine Supper Club? That sounds FABULOUS! Tom, I’ve never heard of these- can you please give me some info- I’m enthralled already!

And Art Deco is the touchstone for Mod Betty, that got me into all this cool old 20th century stuff. Love it!
