The King Hendrick Motel
When In The New York Adirondacks Mr. Modtomic Stays At The King Hendrick Motel. Well, It’s Where We Stayed For Our Week Long Visit Anyway. Status: Modtomic Approved!
The owners were super nice, exceptionally reasonable and excited to be running a nifty little joint. That bodes well for anybody adventurous enough to stray off the beaten path and willing to try an independently owned / operated motel.

The Flower Cottages, Lake George NY
We checked out a LOT of Hotels and Motels around the Lake George NY area while we were there. All were pretty nice. Some were just more charming than others, like this little joint: the Flower Cottages.
We didn’t actually stay here. We have no first hand experience of staying in one of these cute little bungalows, but we totally would have – and might next time! The Flower Cottages had plenty of units and a variety of sizes. I love that some are tucked way back into the shade of tall mature pine and aspen trees. It’s like camping…in a “sleeping in a small house” kinda way!

The place wasn’t even expensive! But I still couldn’t pull the trigger. We did get a room key and take the full tour though. Maybe next time. Lake access is worth a few more bucks a night!What do you think about that AMAZING sign?! They are keeping it alive. It got us to stop! We’ve found out on this trip that keeping these neon signs up and running ain’t cheap. I hope it keeps paying off for them.
