What used to be called the Lansdowne Theatre in Lansdown PA is now the home to Cinema 16:9, and has been recommended by Retro Roadmap Reader Adam Cooperstein.
Cinema 16:9 is one of the tenants in this originally glorious theatre structure that opened in 1927. Like many Main Street movie houses, it has had its share of ups and downs, but since 2005 has been owned by the The Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation (HLTC) a private non-profit corporation, established to purchase and restore The Lansdowne Theater.
Adam writes:
They have 2 screening rooms that sit a few dozen people. They also rent DVDs. I would highly recommend a visit in order to give them some financial support to a deserving non-profit.
You know Mod Betty is a sucker for an old theatre trying to get back on her feet. Best of luck Lansdowne Theater, and thanks for the tip, Adam!
