Retro Roadmap Readers – as you know Mod B has a bad case of Wanderlust (not the band) – so I’m posting this message To Myself on the main website so you all know. I should be WILL BE staying home this weekend, writing about retro roadtrip adventures I’ve already been on – and NOT out in the Retro Roadmobile thrifting or scouting new old places to share!
(This isn’t the Retro Roadmap office, but close enough!)
Retro Roadmapping is very close to collecting, or thrifting- the most fun part to me is in the hunt, and the discovery, and the moment. Writing about it is the difficult part, but I know it has to happen, or else all these places will just be stuck inside my head!
I mean you do want to hear about the fun roadside burger stand, surprise merry go round, lil historic theatre, vintage Italian restaurant and summer roadtrip excursion we had to Asbury Park, right?
RIGHT? 🙂
So yes (again, proclaiming it publicly so it has to happen) by the end of this weekend you WILL hear all about these places!
(Then I can get back to finishing up on our trip to California, back in May – hopefully I’ll be done by the time we had BACK THERE in September :-))

August 24, 2012 at 2:29 pmThis is funny because I find the same thing happens to me. I’m always thinking about what I’m going to write, but the truth is that the experiences are so much richer than any write-up could be. I say get out there and enjoy the weekend, and then worry about the rest of it next week. (I need a devil sitting on your shoulder icon.)

August 24, 2012 at 5:20 pmI think that devil icon is a bit FUZZY if you know what I mean! 🙂
Luckily I think I’m “in the zone” this evening, so if I get a lot of writing done this evening perhaps I can “go out and play” later in the weekend. AND they are calling for overcast skies, which also helps me stay at home. If I know my photos won’t come out, it makes me less likely to want to wander!

August 24, 2012 at 5:13 pmOh, that “get on the road” bug is hard to quell. I say you can ONLY visit a place within 20 miles. Then come back and write. 😉

August 24, 2012 at 5:21 pmJen – glad to know I’ve got a kindred spirit in that respect! Taking out the compass now to see what might be included in a 20 mile radius 😉
