What better way to kick off the Easter weekend than a quick trip north to see the fam. Of course, being Retro Roadmappers, we had to tack on a bunch of Retro Roadmap worthy things to our trip!
First stop Friday night, traffic willing is the Rosebud Diner Bar in Somerville MA.
The diner itself is already on the Retro Roadmap courtesy of Diner Hotline, I haven’t been there since I lived down the road apiece years ago. But when I heard they opened up the back room for live music AND found out thatour fave rockin combo The Figgs were playing this Friday night, well we know that the road was heading to Davis Square from PA.
Other plans include a day trip to Worcester – Worcester Art Museum? Higgins Armory? Coney Island Hot Dogs? Wonder Bar Pizza? Boulevard Diner? Railroad Station? Hebert Candy Mansion? Who knows how many of these fun things we’ll be able to cram into such a short time, but if we do -you’ll know about it and hopefully benefit from our feedback.
What do YOU have planned for this weekend? Retro Roadmap wants to know!

April 6, 2010 at 6:48 amWe had a fabulous weekend, I can’t wait to share all the cool places we went and fun things we did- it’s times like this I wish I didn’t have a more than full time job, so I could devote all my time to Retro Roadmap!

April 6, 2010 at 6:48 amGunnar- we ended up going up 84 into MA since we were heading into the city vs going directly to my sister’s in SOMA. Hope you guys are drying out!

April 4, 2010 at 9:33 amA diner with a bar? My type of joint!
I’m taking the weekend easy, but spent Friday at a flea market, and dinner at the wonderful Bridges BBQ in Shelby, NC:

April 6, 2010 at 6:47 amIt was more like the room behind the diner, but you can’t beat the beautiful facade of the Rosebud. I just wish the traffic wasn’t so lousy, as we didn’t have time to grab a bite in the diner before meeting up with my sister and a few surprise pals. SO good to get back into Davis Square, I love the Boston area!

April 6, 2010 at 9:08 pmWhat a combo of great places! Rosebud….Hebert Candies and the Wonder Bar??!! I actually took my Mom on a roadtrip to the Wonder Bar about 10 years ago (confession – it’s the name of a Martin Sexton album – er – make that a cd….and he wrote lots of songs there so it was a bit of a pilgrimage)
Can’t wait to see more pics 🙂

April 7, 2010 at 9:23 amWe didn’t make it to the Wonderbar as Retro Roadboy specifically asked to go to a diner for lunch so he could have pancakes! I’m never going to say no to a little kid wanting to go to a diner, no siree! Glad to have more things to do and visit in the Worcester area, can’t wait to go back!
