Mod Betty loves old stuff as well as old places, and when she meets like minds all congregated in one area, she just has to share!
The 300 block of North Queen Street in Lancaster PA is home to some of my fave shops for old (and new) items. From vintage clothing and records to handmade and upcycled jewelry, crafts, mid-century modern furniture and more, it's all here. And everyone who I've come into contact with is just so goshdarned friendly!
While there are many many shops on this stretch that are worth a visit here are a few of my faves:
Mod Betty met Aunt Debbie in the early years of Retro Roadmap and discovered this creative creature grew up in Phoenixville! Deb now has her own shop, where she creates and sells all sorts of pop-culture inspired jewelry, clothing, crafts and collectibles.
Why, she and Mod Betty even made a video together!
AND we collaborated on a Retro Roadmap Charm Bracelet (available here) to celebrate the publishing of the Retro Roadmap Roadbook of North / Central New Jersey:
Mod Betty met Alicia when she ran her shop Mommalicious a few storefronts down, and loves what she's doing now with the Telltale Dress shop. So perfectly curated and collected, the vintage clothing here is fabulous!
The Scarlet Willow
320 N Queen St, Lancaster, PA https://www.thescarletwillow.com
There's a little bit of something for everyone at the Scarlet Willow, including vintage records, clothes, houswares, books - all so attractively merchandised, Mod Betty wants owner Jodi to do up her house like this!
For US-made goods, crafts, artwork and funky stuff, Madcap & Co is a fave - I love the reinvented hex signs and illustrated maps by Nicole Duquette - so freakin cheery!
