Mod Betty can't be everywhere at once (though she'd lurve to be!) so when she spies something Retro Roadmap worthy written up elsewhere on the interwebs, she is thrilled!
Marie Let's Eat visited Ferrell's Hamburgers in Hopkinsville, KY and when I saw that neon sign and clay tile roof I swooned and had to share.
The chain started in 1929 and there are only a handful left, with folks saying that this is the best location
Also know as Ferrell's Snappy Service - gotta love that old-school name!
Hopkinsville also is rumored to have a nice little downtown area, so plan on scoping it out during your visit
If that isn't enough, how about this burger photo? I don't know about you, but that sure looks tempting to me!
And if THAT isn't enough, I discovered this video from a couple of years ago that gives you a peek inside this tiny place, and an interview with the owner. She's the wife of the original owner and she is in her 90s!
It's good to know that there are other people out there - like Grant and Marie - bringing places like Ferrell's to our attention - as Mod B always says, it Takes a Ville! And it makes the world a better place.
