Kane’s is great and I try to not go there too often, but recently went and much to my disappointment they got rid of the great aqua stools and all the old tables and chairs during the construction. Total bummer as it looks like a boring modern place now.
I hunted this place down last year on our trip to Boston specifically because of this blog post. We weren’t disappointed. The donuts were as big as your head delicious. Got some great photos of the retro neon sign too.

August 4, 2009 at 8:50 pmHello Gunnar- hopefully you’ve been on the road having wacky adventures for the last 3 months- that’s what the nice weather is all about! Glad you found Retro Roadmap and are enjoying it. Looks like I have some catching up to do with your site as well! I’ve added you to my “Kindred Spirits” blogroll, so others can check out your goings on. Was just thinking during my visit to Mass that I should probably put a Dels Lemonade stand on the Retro Roadmap- if you know of one that is photogenic or historic, lemme know!
