We Finally got to check out McDonnell’s Restaurant, a Carbondale staple since 1956, and at its present corner location since 1969.

Lunch specials are a hearty steal, they've got counter service, tables and booths and on the weekends they open up the adjoining Barn Room for dinner and larger parties!

Note, if you’re averse to being watched over by taxidermied mooses, sit in the window area where they can’t see you, and marvel at the sadly out of order but rarely seen 1970s Rockola wall box tableside jukeboxes.
