Neat pictures, I remember seeing the Ohio one before and wondering why it was in KY.
I like Dani’s blog, seems we have a lot in common, both in Ohio, both in a small rural town, (wondering if we are in the same one) both like old structures, I’d like to do the See Rock City barn tour too, that would be so fun.
      Thanks for sharing

Both are gorgeous! The last time that I was in Louisville, I was stuck in a hotel at a conference the entire time and I didn’t get to explore.

That Ohio Theatre edifice is great!

The only hotel I’d want to be stuck in in Louisville is the Brown Hotel – just feet from these two theatres – I’ll be posting about it (and their famous sandwich) soon! Have to do it when I’m not hungry tho – the photos make me drool 🙂

On the upside, the hotel that I was chained to was the Seelbach … a great building with lots of history. If you’re ever back in Louisville, check out the Seelbach’s Rathskeller basement bar … it’s amazing!

The Palace is a beautiful theatre to visit, though it is corporate owned now. I asked the lady at coat check about the history and she didn’t really know a whole lot. Still, worth checking out if you are in Louisville! My Hubby and I saw Alison Krauss there a couple years back. The Ohio blade sign is cool too, but I felt the same way, kind of bummed the rest of the theatre wasn’t there.

It’s with mixed feelings I see many of these places, but I try to think I’d rather have it open and corporate than closes, or have the sign preserved rather than the whole thing in a dumpster. Guess we’re both “glass half” full kinda folks! 🙂
