Another one for my “to do” list!

I may just have a nightmare about the angry soul of that cow, though 🙂

I know what you mean! Now that I know it is haunted everything looked slightly sinister!

Nice pictures, you put a lot of effort in your work. How do you find the time and money to travel, or do you have folks send in pictures to you?. Richard from the Amish settlement of Lebanon,Pa

Richard – thanks for the kind words!

As far as time, I have a full time M-F job, but no kids and a husband who is up for adventure, so pretty much all of my free time is centered around Retro Roadmap. That’s fine by me because it’s how things were before the blog started, with me wanting to drive around and find cool places to photograph and visit. Now I just share with folks.
Money? Well, with the exception of our trip to Austin (which was also a business trip for RetroRoadhusband as he’s a musician) we pretty much stay local, eat cheap, and consider these trips part of our vacation time together, so it isn’t that much.

I would LOVE for folks to send photos and writeups to add to RetroRoadmap, as I really want it to be a trusted resource for everyone, so that’s why I like to have a real person visit and review the places on the map. It’s more like a personal recommendation than a commercial.

I truly truly enjoy doing RetroRoadmap, so I honestly don’t know what I would do with my free time 🙂

Thanks for responding to my questions, and ive said in a few post ago that I’m surprised no ads appear on your blog. But i think one of the reasons is word press and that’s a huge reason. From my understanding they don’t allow its bloggers to post ads on their blogs. Have you ever considered going to blogger or just going the web page route?. I might be interested to maybe post something that wouldn’t be suitable for my blog because its about Amish/Mennonite culture. I have done a diner review on Amish Stories which i enjoyed, I’m a very big fan of classic diners. So i do try and stick something that’s non-Amish in my blog, mostly because i am the boss of my own blog, lol. Also if you provided an e-mail address to reach you would be handy on your blog. Just a thought and in the end your the boss of your own blog as well, i do enjoy dropping by yours and see your site as being huge. Richard

Richard- WordPress is definitely one of the reasons there’s no advertising, but I have many reasons it is the way it is now. I enjoy gathering the information and sharing it, and prefer to spend my time doing that and not admin work. Also never would want someone to think that a place was given space here only because they were an advertiser. Being the boss of your own blog has a certain freedom in it, even if it comes with the freedom from income from it 🙂
