OOOO, I love seeing old theaters restored. They have so much more character than those horrible “movieplexes” at the malls. Last summer I had the pleasure of visiting the Latchis Theater in Brattleboro Vt, which is part of an art deco hotel. If you ever get to NE you need to check out this place. Amazing! http://theater.latchis.com/gallery/
Theresa – I am so with you on the restored old theatres, and Thanks a bunch for the link to the Latchis! I had not heard of it but haven now added it to my Vermont map of places to check out next time we’re up there 🙂
My pleasure. I hope you get to visit. You will love this place. Even the hotel is an amazing example of Deco architecture. The mosaic terrazzo floors are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

March 28, 2017 at 4:01 pmSo glad you finally got here! The Grand is our favorite place to see a movie (actually the only place- if it ain’t at the Grand, we don’t see it!). It’s wonderful to see a good movie at a good price and in a family-friendly historic building. My kids think this is the way it’s supposed to be (organ concert before the movie, too) and it’s a culture shock for them to go to a megaplex. 😉
