The Milk Bottle Restaurant Raynham MA – OMG Just GO!

Gah, I drag my feet sometimes for no good reason at all. Like why is it that I've known about the Milk Bottle in Raynham MA for years - years! And yet am still dawdling and not getting it on Retro Roadmap.

"Enough of the slacking, Mod B", says Mod B-" just tell the folks about this Restaurant Shaped Like A Milk Bottle just off of 495 on route 138 in Raynham MA!"

Well, that's pretty much what it is - a restaurant shaped like a milk bottle. There's a little dining annex so you're not all crammed up into the bottle itself, but you still get the feeling of being in the bottle if you sit at the circular counter. Open for breakfast and lunch, we've brought the Retro Roadkids there a couple of times for breakfast.

There used to be a number of these milk bottles scattered around the Boston area,but now there are only 2 that I can think of, including this one. (The other being outside the Children's museum in Boston).

As "punishment" for me slacking about sharing this one for so long,  here's a photo of yours truly circa 1994 with a big bottle found in the wilds of Western MA - ugh!

According to a tip on Roadside America this one was erected by Frates Dairy, designed by Les Labrose and was originally painted white with a cream color close to the brim.

• It is 60-feet tall
• 21-feet wide
• Made of wood
• Built in 1926
• Run by the father-daughter team of Joe and Jamie Losciuto since 2001.

They sell ice cream in the summer, and you can sit on the patio out front under the trees and gaze up at the giant milk bottle. Wicked easy to get to off of 495 - don't drag your feet like I do, just GO!
