While some diner completists might stop at the stone encrusted restaurant just up the road, Retro Roadmappers know to happily spend their time money and calories at the colorful White Dotte Dairy Bar in Vincentown / (Southampton Township according to Google.)

The trolley car shaped building has been at the intersection of Route 206 and 38 road since 1952 and is still owned and operated by the Green family. While the exterior signage gives you an idea of what to expect inside - steaks, shakes, burgers and sundaes what you may be surprised by is that they also sell CBs and radio parts to truck drivers who frequent the area!

Stepping inside this cheery aqua and orange space you’ll immediately notice that the layout is similar to the tiny diners that Mod Betty is so fond of, with counter seats and booths, all covered with that classic (if reproduction) boomerang pattern Formica. If the weather is nice, there are also tables with umbrellas under the shade of the giant tree out back.

Open 7 days a week in season, they serve breakfast every day, homemade BBQ (they’ve got a smoker outside) and their menu includes all sorts of interesting burgers. Want a spicy patty? Get the Jersey Devil burger. Or perhaps one deep fried in pancake batter? They can do that too. I love their famous chicken and waffles made with home made brined chicken, and their ice cream menu includes soft serve, hard ice cream and water ice in all sorts of delicious combinations.
