Come Watch Mod Betty’s Fave Movie on the Big Screen – Bingo, You’ve Won!

Beach Blanket Bingo, that is!

Yes it’s true and I’m not ashamed to admit it – all those Sunday afternoons watching re-runs of 1960s movies on Channel 56 definitely affected Mod B’s development, and one of my fave movies of the entire Beach Party genre is the 1965 classic – Beach Blanket Bingo.

Beach Blanket Bingo! Thanks Unshredded Nostalgia
Mod B had to get this original BBB poster from Unshredded Nostalgia – she just had to!

Starring Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, this beach party movie boasts a cast of  a whole host of famous folks (Paul Lynde! Linda Evans! Buster Keaton! Timothy Carey…and more!) Filled with fun 60’s fashions, goofy plotline  and kitschy cool music numbers, it’s a frothy summer delight of the best kind. Especially when viewed on the big screen in an air conditioned historic theatre!

Beach Blanket Bingo!
Voila! Proudly hanging in the Hacienda Living Room. I told you I dug this movie!

So please come out and join me in this once in a lifetime thrill of seeing Beach Blanket Bingo on Sunday July 7th at 2pm at The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville PA.

Mod B has all sorts of prizes and surprises in store for folks who come out to share in this fun event. We have the Thrifty Discount DJs lined up to play some surfin inspired tunes in the lobby before the show, and we’ll have some special gifts in store for Retro Roadmap readers who come out to the show. AND just added – a raffle to win your very own Beach Blanket Bingo poster!

So pencil it in on your calendar and enjoy this fun summer film on the big screen in a historic movie theatre – That’s the name of the game!

Aw, it’s a keeper! And if you want to see it on the small screen- look at your local library, I bet they have it on file 🙂

Any movie with Don Rickles and Paul Lynde in it is tops in my book.
